Vinayaka Mission's Sankarachariyar Dental College (VMSDC), Salem is a distinguished private dental college founded in 1986 by the Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University). The college is accredited by the National Dental Commission (formerly the Dental Council of India) and is one of the oldest private dental colleges in Tamil Nadu. The campus has a fully-fledged dental school hospital, state-of-the-art training simulators, up-to-date research labs, interactive e-learning rooms, student accommodation, and a comprehensive book collection making it a well-balanced place for both study and practical experience.
The college has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) curriculum and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) training in almost all dental disciplines. BDS admission is on the basis of NEET UG 2026 and MDS through NEET MDS 2026. The total number of 100 DDS seats and 38 master's seats in the dental department have been sanctioned.

The postgraduate courses give advanced clinical training, research opportunities, and specialisation in various branches of dentistry. The institution offers UG & PG courses in medical sciences including BDS, MDS, MBBS and other diploma courses. Admissions into which are offered through entrance examinations. I completed BDS from this college and I got admission on the basis of rank in NEET entrance examination, valid score as per the cut of marks is expected. Apart from this minimum eligibility needed for admission is that, student must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks with Physics, chemistry and biology as the compulsory subject from a recognised board. As per my experience I found fees structure and course curriculum to be very flexible.
Vinayaka Missions Shankaracharya Dental College offer UG & PG courses in dental studies. For admission into UG courses basic requirement is that candidate must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks with PCB as the compulsory subject from a recognised board. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit of NEET entrance examination and hence it is mandatory that candidates must appear for NEET exam and must secure valid score as per the cut off marks in order to get shortlisted for admission. Application fee for NEET is 1,500 for general/OBC and can be filled online through official website.
