Kanyakumari Government Medical College

Government T.B Hospital was renamed as the Kanyakumari Govt. Medical College, which is situated in Asaripallam. The Government Medical College was founded in 2004 and institute is Tamil Nadu affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University. The university and hospital are financed and administered by the Tamil Nadu government.

The institution mainly strives to spread its wings to offer a variety of programmes and use the technology to teach and help aspirants learn all latest technology with advance technique. Postgraduate courses were also started in the year 2016. The School of Nursing's Kanyakumari Government Medical College was established on February 3, 2004 with an intake of 50 candidates every year. • T.B Hospital was renovated and constructed around three hundred beds under the TN government order and was inaugurated by CM of TN in 2004.
• KGMC offers Undergraduate MBBS course with 100 intakes per year and offers Post graduate course MD programme with 9 intakes per year and MS programme with 11 intakes per year. MD course is offered in various streams like General medicine, Paediatrics and Anaesthesia.
• In KGMC, the UG course admission and PG course admission is strictly and completely based on the national level entrance examination i.e. NEET UG exam and NEET PG exam. Since the institute is government, the selection to the programme is done through entrance exam score basis.
• Minimum 17 years of age should be attained for the MBBS course admission.
• Government based scholarship amounts are issued for all needy students based on their family income, student category and academic performance (merit based/ score secured in entrance exam).
