The Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science was founded in 1997 in Karimnagar. It was founded by Shalini Vidya Samstha, Karimnagar, under Sri J. Sagar Rao Garu skilled presidency as a self-funded engineering institute. The College has an urbanized area of ?? almost 23,479 square feet and is located in a quiet, picturesque location on 25 acres near Karimnagar. Institute is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

• JITS offers Engineering courses in 3 categories, namely Polytechnic degree, UG Degree, and PG degree. It offers a B. Tech course with six streams, an M. Tech course with 9 streams, MBA, MCA, Integrated M. Tech course, and Diploma course in CME, EEE, and CSE streams.
• Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science, Training & Placement Cell regularly conducts internships and placement training for students in verbal-nonverbal thinking, soft English skills, arithmetic thinking, group discussions, listening skills, puzzles, arithmetic thinking, language competitions, writing skills, etc.

 Institute has a connection with Jawahar Knowledge Center JKC and Infosys Campus Connect to provide students with training and internships. JKC program runs by the JNTU and the Electronic Government Institute IEG to train IT skills and offer internships in prestigious organizations. The institute library currently comprises 45,826 volumes with almost 2861 volumes of reference works, 9974 titles, 250 magazines, 112 national journals, 100 international journals, and 33 magazines.
