Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) was initially incepted with the name “The College of Engineering – Vizagapatam” in 1946. The university grew out of that college.

JNTUK has two constituent colleges under its fold: University College of Engineering (Autonomous) Kakinada and University College of Engineering Vizianagaram. The university has nearly 268 affiliated colleges under the jurisdiction of 8 districts.

  • The JNTUK University College of Engineering Vizianagaram has been set up amid September 2007 with Under Graduate Engineering Courses Viz., B.Tech. In EEE, ECE, CSE, ME, and IT as a constituent school of past JNTU, Hyderabad. Framework improvement works Phase I was authorized by Govt. to a tune of 28.10 Crore’s and initiated the development work in March 2008 at Dwarapudi, Vizianagaram with an Academic Block, Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel. In the year 2008 (20.08.2008), JNTU Kakinada has been set up as a different University with this grounds as a constituent school and moved to possess feet at Dwarapudi Vizianagaram in June 2009.
  • JNTUK is under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University and approved by AICTE.
