Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education established the Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) in 1977. The mission of Siddhartha Academy was to establish and support top-notch educational institutions that will realign technical and professional education into a comprehensive view. UGC granted VR Siddhartha Engineering College an autonomous status in 2006.
