IRT Perundurai Medical College

The IRT Perundurai Medical College known as IRTPMC was founded in the year 1992 and is located in the Erode city, Tamil Nadu. The university affiliation is the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. University of Medicine and institute is approved by the BCI (Bar Council of India). The university extends over 327 hectares and is located 20 km west of Erode on the National Highway of Erode- Coimbatore. The hospital was built in September 1994 with nearly 600 beds and put into operation.

The primary role is to educate medical aspirants through an initial medical and health care approach, with a particular focus on promotion of health, early detection, diagnosis, prevention of disease and disease management, including social inclusion, rehabilitation and it is mainly for the rural population.

• The state government determined in 1986 that for employees of Transportation Corporation, medical school and hospital should provide medical care to people in the region and for transport employee families.
• IRTPMC offers MBBS programme which is five years course duration period and the course fee per annum is INR 1.00L and for entire programme the fee structure is INR 5.00L. IRT PMC, MBBS course admission is strictly based on NEET national entrance examination.
• IRT PMC also offers Diploma programme in streams like General Nursing and Midwifery and Medical Laboratory Technology and  the Diploma course fee is INR 45K (3 ½ years).
• Institute library consists of well stocked books like 9725 books, medical CD’s of 400, journals of 2916, video cassettes of 165, Indian journals of 67 and many more.
