International Institute for Population Sciences (Deemed to be University), also known as IIPS, Mumbai, formed in 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Tata Trust and the United Nations. It is an autonomous institute of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Indian Government. IIPS serves as one of the regional centers for research and training in population education for the ESCAP region. IIPS is a hub of population and health-relevant teaching, which plays a vital role in the planning and the country's development. Apart from teaching and research activities, IIPS also offers consultancy for Government aided and non-government organizations and other academic institutions.

IIPS offers a Master’s Degree program MA for two years with a total intake of 50 students and gives MPS (Master of Population Studies) for one year with complete information of 50 students. It offers an M.Sc. program in two streams, namely Bio-statistics, Habitat, and Population studies. Apart from these, it provides a doctoral program in M.Phil. And Ph.D.
IIPS admissions for all the courses will be granted based on the IIPS admission test, which the institute will conduct. Candidates who clear the admission test must appear for the interview session. Candidates can submit the application form via online mode. IIPS application fee charges approximate INR 500
At IIPS, the Government of India fellowships are offered for the deserved Indian candidates enrolling in Master’s Degree and Research Programs. A Fellowship amount of INR 5000 per month will be provided for the Master’s Degree and the Ph.D. & M.Phil. securing candidates will be provided INR 6,000 per month
