Heritage Law College is one of the best colleges in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is affiliated with the University of Calcutta and offers the best facilities to its students. The college has a student-faculty ratio of about 1:10, which is a good ratio for a good college. The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The fee structure is quite affordable. Heritage Law College is committed to academic excellence and the pursuit of a diverse student body. Its founding philosophy is to empower students and eliminate barriers to a college education. Through its law program, students learn how to become practicing lawyers and serve their communities. LSAC PLUS Program participants attend in-person classes at Heritage three days a week. The program features a visit from a justice of the Washington Supreme Court and roundtable discussions with members of the minority bar association.

The program will be led by legal educators and will prepare Central Washington students for law school and a legal career. This innovative initiative is supported by the Law School Admission Council and the University of Washington. It also has a grant from Gonzaga University. The goal of the program is to make law school more accessible to underrepresented students. Heritage Law College administrators cite a variety of barriers that may keep students from pursuing a legal education. High tuition costs and family commitments can limit a student's ability to attend school full-time.

Heritage Law College Placement

The College is home to a Training & Placement Cell, which complements the efforts of faculty by providing students with placement opportunities. It is the primary interface between the College and the corporate world and works to foster industry-academic relations. It also conducts orientation programs, mock interview sessions, and summer internship programs.

Heritage Law College Facilities

The College is located on the Heritage campus, close to the Heritage Institute of Technology and the Heritage School. The campus is very well-kept, and the law library has extensive collections of reference books, textbooks, and national journals. There are also online legal databases for students to use. The College also has a cafeteria, which seats 200 people. Students can enjoy a multi-cuisine lunch here. A fast-food restaurant is also available on campus. Additionally, the campus is Wi-Fi-enabled.

Heritage Law College has excellent facilities. The College has distinct hostels for boys and girls. The girls' hostel is on campus, while the boys' hostel is off-campus. Both hostels offer transport services to and from campus. The rooms are largely double occupancy, although there are some single rooms. Heritage Law College hostel fees charges are about INR 4,500 - 5,000 per month. The College also requires a caution deposit of about INR 10,000.

Heritage Law College Admission Process

Students can download the Heritage Law College application form from the College's website. The form requires personal information such as name, address, and phone number. It also requires information about educational background. In addition, a contemporary passport-length photograph is required.

The eligibility requirement is students must have passed class 12th with at least 45% aggregate marks. For SC or ST category, the minimum aggregate mark is 40%. In addition, heritage Law College course admissions require students to attend the University of Calcutta Entrance Exam. There is no provision for direct admission. The admission counseling is based on the Heritage Law College merit list.

Heritage Law College offers BA LLB as a 5-year integrated program. Admissions are open for those who have completed 10+2 board exams with a minimum mark of 50%. There is no entrance exam needed for admissions.

HLC does not offer LLB program. It offers an integrated law program called BALLB for 5 years. Those who have completed 10th and 12th board exams with a minimum of 50% marks can apply for this program.

To get admission for the BA LLB program at Heritage Law College, they must have done 10th and 12th board exams with a minimum of 45% of marks. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum of 40% marks will be accepted.
