Government College of Engineering Salem

In 1966, the Government College of Engineering Salem was founded. It was the third engineering college to be established in Tamil Nadu. GCE Salem offers 6 UG Courses and 6 PG courses. NAAC accredited the college with a "B" Grade. In addition, it has been recognized as a research centre under Anna University for Ph.D./MS courses. All the engineering departments have well-qualified faculty members and exceptional infrastructure facilities. Besides, GCE has been supported by world bank financial assistance, TEQIP Phase 1 to 3. Government College of Engineering Salem NIRF Ranking is 251-300 for B Tech.

GCE is also one of the participating institutes in Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education (QEEE) offered by MHRD. In addition, the industrial experts regularly interact with the college to make the pupils industry-ready. Thus, GCE Salem is rising from strength to strength and gaining an appreciation for its involvement in the cause of Engineering Education. More than 80 faculty members & 2,000 students are enrolled. The college's core mission is "To develop exceptional engineers who succeed not only in the scientific and technological fields, as well as in civic virtue and discipline."
 

The GCE Salem courses include B Tech and M Tech in numerous engineering specializations. However, only full-time study programs are available at the college. GCE Salem fees structure for B Tech is INR 15k per annum. The fees for M Tech are approximately INR 10k per year.

Admission to the BE programs is based on student's grades in the class 12 math, physics, and chemistry disciplines. TNEA Counselling is used as the basis for admission to the BE programs. The TANCET /GATE entrance exam scores determine admission to the M Tech programs. However, students must satisfy the necessary Government College of Engineering Salem cutoff scores.
