Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College was founded in the academic year of 1976, with an aim to enable students to explore, discover and develop their individual creative potential in order to respond to the challenges of sustainable and socially responsible design thinking. The College was approved by T.N. Dr. Ambedkar Law University.

  • Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College offers under graduate and Post graduate courses in the fields Law, i.e. LLB, LLM & BA + LLB.
  • Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, courses Fee Structure is quite feasible and can be paid in instalments per annum. Total fee structure of LLB course is INR 6,160; LLM course is INR 4,760 and BA + LLB course can be completed with the total expenditure of INR 6,270.
  • Admission into various courses at Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College is offered on the basis of candidate score in CLAT entrance examination, with the basic eligibility that, candidate must have passed 12th with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board of education.

Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College was also known as Madras Law College before. Legal education in Madras was started by Mr. George Norton and provided classes in law. The main aim was to develop the students to understand all the law practices and use it properly when needed.

Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College Placement-

  • They are provided with practice under experienced advocates for a certain period of time which helps them understand the problems faced by the people.

Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College Infrastructure-

The college has 4 spacious class rooms where more than 300 students can be seated at a stretch in the ground floor.

7 classrooms are present in the 2 blocks with labs and other rooms fitted with projectors for providing audio and video representation to make the students clear with the concepts.

Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls and an old library is present with all the reference books, journals etc. from many decades.

Applicants must have finished their basic education, like 10+2, followed by a graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for admissions.

The annual intake of the 3-year LLB program at Ambedkar Law College is up to 320 seats. Candidates will be selected based on bachelor’s degree scores and certification from approved Universities.
