Dr Ambedkar Government Law College was also known as Madras Law College before. Legal education in Madras was started by Mr. George Norton and provided classes in law. The main aim was to help the students to understand all the law practices and use them properly when needed.

Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College Infrastructure-

The college has 4 spacious classrooms where more than 300 students can be seated at a stretch on the ground floor.

7 classrooms are present in the 2 blocks with labs and other rooms fitted with projectors for providing audio and video representation to make the students clear with the concepts.

Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls, and an old library is present with all the reference books, journals, etc. from many decades.

Dr Ambedkar Government Law College BA LLB admission is based on merit, which is determined by the score obtained in 10+2/HSC. Thus, there is no specific entrance exam. However, students must undergo Counselling conducted by TNDALU.
