Coimbatore Medical College

Coimbatore Medical College is a medical college run by the state government, which is also got MCI (Medical Council of India) recognition. This medical institute is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, near the railway station and nearby harbours.

• This is built-in 153 acres of land donated by the GD Naidu to the Tamil Nadu State government and was inaugurated in 1966.
• Government Headquarters Hospital has been attached to the medical college and has now been turned into Medical teaching institute.
• Coimbatore Medical College affiliation had done by the Madras University, but later on, it got affiliated to Bharathiar University.
• Subsequently, this medical institute is affiliated with Dr. M.G.R Medical University and is having a total of 30 departments along with libraries and medical laboratories.
• Coimbatore Medical College courses are in preclinical and electives. The degree courses are MBBS, MS course as MS in general Medicines, Diploma courses like DGO, DA, D.Ch, DRDT, M.Ch in Pardistric Surgery, and paramedical procedures such as diploma in nursing and diploma in Pharmacy.
