Direct Admission in National Institute of Technology Silchar 2026, Eligibility

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar is one of the chief Institutes in 1967 in Silchar as a Deemed University for providing quality education. The Institute is currently offering Engineering, Management, and Science programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and Doctoral levels such as B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, M.Sc., and Ph.D. The Application Forms for the programs are made available on the Institute’s website.

The Institute’s Selection process for the programs is based on performance in the respective entrance exams such as GATE for M.Tech, JEE Main for B.Tech, IIT JAM for M.Sc., and CAT/MAT/CMAT for MBA. The Seat allotment in the Institute is purely based on rank obtained in the entrance exams.

NIT Silchar B.Tech Admissions:

NIT offers an Engineering program at the undergraduate level with six specializations for four years with eight semesters. The Institute accepts application forms of the students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent from well-recognized boards of the Country. The selection for the program is based on the marks obtained in JEE Main exam.

The students who are qualified in the JEE Main exam will have to attend the admission counseling process to verify all the documents. The final admission will be confirmed only after document verification and fee payment.

NIT Silchar B.Tech Cut Off:

NIT Silchar M.Tech Admissions:

M.Tech program is offered by the Institute for two years, consisting of four semesters with six specializations. The students must meet the essential eligibility criteria of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology from a well-recognized university with 60% marks. The students will be selected for final admission based on marks obtained in the GATE exam.

NIT Silchar M.Tech Cut Off:

NIT Silchar M.Sc. Admissions:

M.Sc. program has three specializations for two years of duration. The basic eligibility required for admission to the M.Sc. program is B.Sc. with relevant subjects from well-recognized universities of the country with 50% marks. The Students are selected for entries based on performance in the IIT JAM exam.

NIT Silchar MBA Admissions:

The business Administration program is offered by the Institute at the Postgraduate level with three specializations for two years of duration. The students will be selected for admissions for the MBA program based on marks obtained in CAT or MAT, or CMAT exams. The basic eligibility required for applying to the MBA program is a bachelor’s degree in any stream with 50% marks from a well-recognized university.

NIT Silchar Application Process:

The students seeking admission to the NIT Silchar programs will have to download the application form from the NIT official website. The application form must be filled with pertinent details and must be submitted before the given date with an INR 500/- through a DD application fee. The application form can be posted or can even be submitted to the Institute in person.
