Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology was brought into existence on the 7th of November 2006. This institute a been expert in providing technical and management courses like B.Tech, BBA, BCA at the under-graduate level and M.Tech, MCA, and MBA at the post-graduate level.

  • To seek admission for 4 years B. Tech course one must have HSC examination passed with a minimum of 45% marks with Physics, chemistry, and mathematics as mandatory subjects along Combined entrance exam-CEE or JEE Main qualified.
  • To seek admission for 2 years of M.Tech course, candidates should hold a UG degree in the B.tech field and have a qualified GATE.
  • To seek admission for an MBA course, one must have qualified CAT, ATMA, MAT, or CMAT, having bachelor degree in any stream securing not less than 50% aggregate.
  • BBA and BCA admission will be made through counseling, so based on the merit list, they will be prepared for seat allotment.

Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology B.Tech, BCA, and BBA Admission:

For B. Tech admission in Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology candidate should have passed the intermediate exam with not less than 45% aggregate for open category and 40% aggregate for reserved category.

  • Admission to lateral entry B.Tech will need eligibility that candidate should be a diploma holder in relevant stream passed with at least 45% aggregate.
  • Both +2 holders and diploma holders will have to appear for entrance exams like JEE Main or CEE to take admission for B.Tech. For appearing for counseling, the student must qualify either of these entrance exams.
  • Admission for BBA and BCA candidates should have passed 12th in streams like commerce, arts, or science with a minimum of 45% marks and 40% marks for reserved category.
  • BBA and BCA college will conduct counseling based on which they will prepare a merit list for the allotment of seats.

Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology M.Tech, MBA, MCA Admission:

For M.Tech admission in Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, candidates should have passed bachelor's degree in B.Tech with at least 50% aggregate for open category, and 45% aggregate for the reserved category since the relaxation of 5% is given to reserved category students.

  • Admission to M.Tech will need eligibility that candidate should have good score GATE along with B.Tech.
  • Admission to MBA needs a bachelor's degree passed with a CAT score, MAT, XAT, CMAT, etc.
  • After qualifying for this admission, test candidates will be called for personal interviews and group discussions for MBA admission.
  • For MBA admission, students will have to appear for the GIMT test for selection along with GD and PI.
  • Admission for MCA candidate should have passed bachelors with minimum 50% marks and 45% marks for reserved category and must have mathematics as a subject in HSC level.
  • For MCA, Admission College will conduct counseling, and according to the student's merit college will allot seats.

In Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology application form can be filled through online or offline process.

For online application process:

  • Applicants are advised to go to the GITM official portal and click on “Apply online” in the admission section.

For Offline application process:

  • Applicants can visit any one of the admission centers: Guwahati, Tezpur, Shrimanta Shankar Academy, for taking the application form and college prospectus. The duly filled application form should be submitted physically at the GITM Guwahati before the last date mentioned by the college.
