The Institute is popularly known as BIT- Bangalore Institute of Technology, established in 1979 and located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is a private Institute affiliated with VTU, Belgaum. The college currently offers BE, M. Tech, and MBA programs under UG and PG courses in various disciplines.   • The Institute offers a BE program for four years with nine different specializations for the eligible candidates.

  • The Institute offers M. Tech with eight disciplines for two years to candidates with eligible marks.

You get admissions for B-Tech program in Bangalore Institute of Technology depending on your academic scores in board exams as of 10th and 12th exams from recognized board in the science stream with min of 60 to 70% marks in core subjects. Selections shall happen based on entrance exam scores like JEE Main/ KCET or COMED K followed by counselling results. As per the seat matrix, the majority of seats will be given for the CSE stream and the remaining seats are divided between other specializations. If you have low scores in entrance exams, then you can apply directly for management quota admissions.

The college is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University. Bangalore Institute of Technology's nirf ranking was 201-250 rank. BIT is situated in Silicon Valley, Bangalore. NAAC and AICTE accredit the college. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have 45% marks in 10+2. Selection is based on COMEDK/KCET scores. To take BE admission, all the students had written the KCET, whereas few had written the COMEDK. Some students had written both exams. For these entrance exams, we must apply after PUC only and later report the CET and participate in the counseling to get a seat in the Bangalore Institute of Technology admission process.

Seats are provided to only those students who gets allotted through KCET and COMEDK counselling processes based on entrance ranks and students must have completed 10+2 with PCM subjects to be eligible.

In KCET 2025, the B.E. CSE for General Merit category closing rank at BIT Bangalore was 8157 in Round 3 and the COMEDK 2025 CSE closing rank was 5892.
