The Department of School Education, Government of Telangana, conducts the Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TS TET. They do this to pick out talented students who want to become teachers. To work as a teacher in primary and secondary schools under the Telangana State Government, you need to pass the TS TET 2024 Exam. If you have a B.Ed degree, you can take TS TET to become a primary or secondary-level teacher.

TS TET happens once a year. The TSTET exam has two levels: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for Primary Teachers who wish to teach Classes 1 to 5. While Paper 2 is for Secondary Teachers who aim to teach Classes 6 to 8. Students aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 8 must take both papers.

TS TET Exam Process 2024

Step 1: TS TET Application Form

Before filling out the TS TET registration form 2024, students must pay the application fee. Students can pay the INR 400 TSTET application fee online through TS ONLINE or a payment gateway. Once the application fee is successfully paid, students will receive a journal number to proceed with the submission of the application form. Students must then fill out the TSTET application form on the official exam website.

Step 2: TS TET Hall Ticket 2024

Students can download the TS TET hall ticket from the official exam website. The TS TET Admit Card 2024 is an essential document to bring to the exam centre.

Step 3: TSTET Exam 2024

Students must appear for the TS TET exam at the assigned exam centre. Students should arrive at the centre 30 minutes before the start of the exam.

TS TET 2025 Eligibility criteria

Eligibility criteria are different for students applying for Classes I to V (Paper - 1) and Classes VI to VIII (Paper - 2). Students need to read the TS TET eligibility criteria for the specific paper they are applying to carefully. The TS TET eligibility criteria are provided below.

Age Criteria

  • The TS TET 2024 application process in Telangana does not have an upper age limit.
  • For TS TET 2024 Paper 1, applicants need to be above 18 years old.

Educational Criteria 

For Paper 1

  • To be eligible for this test, students should have a 10+2 or an equivalent grade with a minimum of 50%. If students belong to categories like OBC, PwD, SC, or ST, the required minimum score is 45%.
  • Students must have completed a two-year Special Education Diploma, a four-year Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), a two-year Elementary Education Diploma, or a combination of these qualifications.
  • Additionally, students need a 10+2 diploma from a recognized school or an equivalent degree with a minimum cumulative grade of 45%. For OBC/PwD or SC/ST applicants, the minimum score in the 10+2 exam remains at 45%.
  • Students are also required to have a four-year B.El.Ed, a two-year elementary education diploma, or a two-year diploma in special education.

For Paper 2

  • To be eligible, students should have at least a 50% cumulative grade in their B.Com, BA, or BSc degree. If you are in the OBC/PWD/SC/ST categories, then you need a minimum of 45% marks.
  • Students are also required to have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with a specialization in Special Education. Alternatively,
  • If you have a B.Sc., B.Com., or B.A. degree with a minimum of 50% or 40% for OBC, PWD, SC, or ST students, you can apply. A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with a focus on Special Education is necessary.
  • Students who completed a four-year BA Ed/BScEd program should have at least 50% or 45% for OBC, PWD, SC, or ST.
  • If you have a degree in literature, a bachelor's degree in an oriental language or an equivalent, or a postgraduate degree in the relevant language, or a degree with language as one of the optional courses, you are eligible. Along with this, students need a B.Ed. or a Certificate in Language Pandit Training. This requirement is specifically for language teachers.
