In the previous VITEEE 2025 exam pattern, students received one mark for each correct answer; there was no negative marking for incorrect answers. This made it possible for students to answer all questions without fear of losing points.
Beginning with VITEEE 2026, the format will change. Students will be awarded four points for each correct response, and one point will be deducted for incorrect answer. This means that negative marking will now be implemented in this exam, where previously there was none. Unanswered questions will still receive zero marks, so it is safe to skip questions.
With the addition of negative markings to the exam, students must now pay closer attention when answering questions on the exam. Random guessing of answers can lead to a lower score.
