The Jain University, formerly known as Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College (SBMJC), was founded in 1990 and is one of Bangalore's top universities. In 2009, Jain University was designated as a "Deemed-to-be-University," and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) gave it an "A" rating in 2017. The University Grants Commission (UGC) and a member of the Association of Asian and Pacific Universities (AUAP) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) accredited Jain University. A total of 5 campuses make up the University. As per NIRF 2021 Rankings, Jain University ranked 99th and its component part, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, secured 157th Rank in India. Besides, India Today has ranked Jain Bangalore as the 7th best private University in Bangalore.

Jain University NIRF Ranking

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was created to evaluate the performance of educational institutions throughout the Country. In 2015, NIRF was introduced. To rank an institution, NIRF examines several characteristics. The five criteria used by the Ministry of Education (MoE) to determine the Jain University Bangalore NIRF ranking are Resources, Teaching, and Learning, Professional Development and Research, Graduation Results, Inclusion and outreach, Participation of Peers.

  • Jain University NIRF 2020 Rankings, it has secured 85th Overall. And secured 117th Position for B Tech Category.

Jain University Cut Off

Every year, Jain University Bangalore publishes its cut off and merit list for various courses for admission to UG and PG programs. Jain University has approximately 16 departments, institutions, and colleges for which the cut off will be established based on the reservation categories and seat availability. Jain University Cut off are prepared based on various factors such as the number of students who take the qualifying exam, the highest marks obtained in the examination, the difficulty level of the test, and the availability of vacant seats in a specific department of Jain University.

Jain University Admission

Candidates seeking admission at Jain University must ensure the eligibility criteria before applying for admission. Interested and eligible applicants can fill the Jain University application process online by logging into the University's official website. Cut-offs for Jain University will be used to determine Jain University admission.

Jain University B.Tech Selection Criteria

  • Students pass in Class 12 with at least 45 per cent aggregate (40 per cent for SC or ST) from a PUC or ISC or CBSE or comparable board, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry or Electronics or Computer Science or Biology as electives.
  • Those who have finished Class 12 or comparable exams or are in their last year of Class 12 or its equivalent and are awaiting results may also apply. NIOS students are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates required to undertake a University-based entrance test that is JET (Jain Entrance Test)
  • After qualifying in JET, students have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

Jain University MBA Selection Criteria

  • Students must have a graduation degree with an average of at least 50% in any subject or have passed an examination with an equivalent value (10+2+3 pattern).
  • Students from the SC/ST categories are eligible for a 5% mark reduction in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates who have cleared any national level aptitude tests such as MAT, CAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT or GMAT with an eligible score can secure MBA admission in Jain. Such candidates are not required to undertake JET. They will be directly qualified for the Personal Interview round.
  • In case candidates have not appeared in any of the entrance tests, such students must undertake JET. Whereas the JET process concludes a written test followed by GD/PI.

Jain University Application Process

Students interested in securing admission at Jain College can fill the Jain application form online. For any desired program, there is a non-refundable Jain application fee. The Jain application procedure is outlined below in detail:

  • Step 1: Go to the Jain official website and select the 'Admissions' page.
  • Step 2: Register by entering your name, nationality, email address, and password.
  • Step 3: To register the application, select the programme type, name, and specialization.
  • Step 4: The application form will display on the screen. Students must enter their personal information carefully and fill out all essential fields to proceed further.
  • Step 5: Make payment for the Jain application fee of Rs. 600 and submit the form.
  • Step 6: Save a copy of the Jain University application form if there are any additional requirements.
