Vinod Gupta School of Management

In 1993, the Vinod Gupta School of Management was established as a one-of-a-kind project among the Indian Institutes of Technology. The VGSoM became the IIT system's first school of management.

According to the NIRF 2021 rankings, it is India's 9th top management school. The flagship VGSOM MBA program is residential. The B-school also offers weekend Executive MBA courses in Kolkata and Bhubaneswar for working professionals. In addition, the VGSoM (IIT KGP) provides a PGDBA program in collaboration with IIM Calcutta and ISI. The college also provides a three-year Ph.D. program.

It's a government-run co-educational school. The VGSoM IIT Kharagpur campus spans 1300 acres. The school's objective and vision are to develop great professionals and future CEOs to lead organizations.

VGSoM Courses

VGSoM courses include a two-year MBA, a three-year Executive MBA, a one-year PGDB, and an MDP program at the postgraduate level. A three-year Ph.D. program is also available at the college. MBA programs are offered through many departments, including the Centre for Computer Science and Engineering, Education Technology, Subir Chowdhary School of Quality and Reliability, RMSOE, RGSOIPL, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Industrial and Systems Engineering. The courses at VGSoM also include a VGSoM Executive MBA in five specializations and 28 MDP programs.

VGSoM Fees

VGSoM total fee includes an application fee of INR 1,000 for Executive MBA and INR 2,500 for PGDBA (includes INR 1,250 for SC/ ST/ PWD), plus GST. If the pupils do not participate in the International Immersion program, INR 1 lakh is refunded. VGSOM Executive MBA fee is subject to change.

• VGSoM MBA fee is INR 10.35 lakhs for 2 years.
• VGSoM PGDBA fee is INR 20 lakhs for 1 year.
• VGSoM MDP fee is INR 10k for 1 year.
• VGSoM Executive MBA fee is INR 6 lakhs for 3 years.

VGSoM Admission

• VGSOM admissions are made online. Admission to VGSOM is determined by merit, personal interview, AR cumulative score, and entrance exam score.
• The CAT entrance scoring determines course acceptance, and the candidate's performance in the personal interview round determines ultimate acceptance. Considering the whole will offer VGSoM MBA admission.
• Candidates for VGSOM EMBA admission 3-year program must have three years of work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a professional subject.
• Admission to the EMBA and Ph.D. programs in Kolkata is via written examination and interview.
• A written test and a personal interview are required for admission to the VGSOM PGDBA program.

VGSoM Cut-off

Within the IIT system, VGSoM offers a flagship MBA program. For admission to its new batches, the school accepts CAT and GMAT exam scores. Cut-off plays a major role in student admissions. VGSoM cut-off will be displayed by the college every year.

To acquire the score for short-listing applicants to be called for PI, the overall CAT scaled score out of 20, application rating (AR) out of 20, and Gender Diversity Factor (GDF).

All-female GDF applicants will receive two points. However, the final composite score will not use the GDF marks.

VGSoM Placements

The placement unit at the VGSoM, IIT, Kharagpur, guarantees that students are placed in reputable organizations. The VGSoM IIT Kharagpur placement unit serves as a link between students and employers. Completed VGSOM placements with a 100% placement rate. In 2021, the full package of VGSoM offered to students was INR 26.5 LPA. 116 students registered for placements in this batch, and they were all placed in top companies. The average package of VGSOM was INR 18.44 LPA, with the median package being INR 17.12 LPA and the lowest salary being INR 9.55 LPA.

VGSoM Scholarships

Merit Cum Means, Inspire Scholarship, Free Mess, and Pocket Allowance are among the scholarships offered by the VGSOM at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. After meeting the eligibility requirements, students can apply for VGSoM, IIT, and Kharagpur scholarships.
