Technological Institute of Textile and Sciences was established during the second world war in 1943 under the aegis of Birla Education Trust. The visionary and great entrepreneur Padma Vibhushan Dr. G D Birla, founded the college. The campus is located in Bhiwani, Haryana. It is one of the oldest Indian institutions. UGC duly approves the college and holds AICTE approval to offer technical education. TIT Bhiwani is currently affiliated with Rohtak's Maharshi Dayanand University.

TIT Bhiwani Courses are available at UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. At the Ug level, the college offers B Tech and BBA. Under PG, it offers M Tech in Textile Technology. TIT College B Tech is available in various streams aside from textile technology, such as Mechanical, ECE, Fashion & Apparel Engg, Textile Chemistry, and Computer Engg. The annual intake varies from 30 to 120 per stream. The annual intake for Textile Technology is 70. While for CS, the highest intake of 120. TITS is one of the best textile colleges in Haryana.

TIT Bhiwani's fee structure varies for each course offering. The fee for B Tech is INR 66k for 1^st sem. TIT College  Bhiwani admission is granted based on academic merit and entrance test. Admission to B.Tech program is based on a student's performance in the JEE Main and 10+2. Candidates who meet the TIT Bhiwani cutoff must attend state-level counseling conducted by Govt of Haryana. Candidates must take the Haryana Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) to be admitted to B.Tech (Lateral Entry). Candidates whose names seemed on the merit list must attend LEET counseling.

Admission to the BBA is based on academic merit. Admission to the M.Tech textile Technology program at TITS Bhiwani is based on GATE scores, followed by an interview. However, the Institute will fill 50% of the seats based on the last qualifying exam and assign 50% open for applicants with legitimate GATE scores.

TITS Bhiwani provides a wide range of infrastructural facilities for students. It has libraries with many books for each subject or course and a subscription to major national and international periodicals. Other facilities include well-equipped laboratories in each department that are fully equipped for practical purposes.
