Shankarrao Chavan Law College was established in 2003 under the aegis of Marathwada Mitra Mandal in Pune, Maharashtra. The institute is approved by the Bar Council of India and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra. The institute is certified by ISO 9001:2000.

Shankarrao Chavan Law College offers undergraduate degree programs in law such as BA LLB and LLB. The eligibility criteria are intermediate (10+2) from a recognized board and a valid score in Common Entrance Test (CET). The institute also offers a postgraduate degree program, LLM, with the eligibility criteria being a minimum of a bachelor's degree in law from a recognized university.
