Periyar University distance Learning

In 1997, Periyar University was established in Salem. This University is NAAC accredited and recognized by NIRF. In 2001, the University initiated the distance learning institute to provide quality higher education. Periyar University distance learning is also popularized as Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE). The higher education at Periyar University is delivered in three modes, i.e., through affiliated colleges, study and research departments, and PRIDE. The University has also developed online programs at UG and PG levels in 2021.

Periyar University Courses

Periyar University distance education courses are offered in Arts, Commerce, Management, and Computer Application streams. The courses are imparted through blended methods of conventional and innovative methods. Read below for the distance education course details. 

Distance BA course

Distance BA is offered for three years. The fees are INR 2,415 per annum. The online BA fee is 21,000 per annum.  

Distance B.Com Course

• Distance B.Com is a three-year course in commerce stream. 
• Students who completed their 10+2 board exams or diplomas for three years will be eligible for admission. 
• The exam will be held in two parts. One as an Internal assessment and the other as an external assessment. 
• The course outcome is to have imparted all the accounting knowledge and financial subjects as their specializations. 
• The student can choose the Co-Operation and Corporate Secretaryship domain in the third year. 
• Students can look for the course syllabus to proceed with the B.Com admissions. 
• B.Com fees are INR 2,415 per year. 
• B.com is also offered as an online program to aid working professionals. 
• The online B.Com will cost INR 21 K per annum. 

Distance BBA Course

• The Distance BBA is a course in the management domain. 
• Students must have completed their board exams of 10+2 from Tamil Nadu. 
• This program includes Foundation, Core concepts, Allied topics, Skill Based Elective subjects, and Non-Major Electives.
• BBA application is accepted online and offline. 
• BBA fees are INR 2,415 per annum.

Distance BCA Course

The conditions to get admission for distance BCA is to have completed their board exams with mandatory Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics. The passing percentage is 60% in their academics. The BCA fee structure is INR 10,865 per annum. 

Distance MBA at PRIDE

• MBA distance education at Periyar University is the flagship course offered at the PG level. 
• The eligibility requirement for a distance MBA is to have completed their graduation degree or diploma in any stream from a recognized University. 
• Periyar University MBA distance education admission date will be available on the official website, and the applications will be accepted within the deadline.

Distance MCA at PRIDE

• MCA distance education applies to those who have completed their graduation degree in BCA from a recognized University or diploma for three years.
• This is a professional course conducted in a semester format.
• Students must do a project as one of the program features in the final year.
• MCA fees are INR 22,080 per annum.

• The diploma courses at Periyar University are a one-year program.
