Mahalakshmi Engineering College is a private institute which was started in the year 2011. Institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. Institute main vision is to provide a high standard technical educational to all the students admitted in the institute. The Mahalakshmi Engineering College offers 5 undergraduate courses in the field of Engineering such as: Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The academic achievements of the university are greatly eschewed by the faculties and the institution head, all of staff members and faculties along the institute head are trained, experienced and committed teachers.

The industry-institution was founded on a single theme (interaction cell) to train the students with the latest techniques and technologies beyond academics and get in touch with the industry and organize industrial visits, organize internships, organize conferences for industry personalities about the latest developments in the industries respective. The placement department regularly organizes campus cruises in the middle of the seventh semester. Simulated interviews, communication skills, group discussions, false scenario, personality training etc. performed regularly by the training department. Hostel block are provided with 150 rooms, each with capacity for 4 students.
