Mahalakshmi Engineering College (MEC) was founded in 2011 and is situated in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The college is accredited by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University in Chennai. The college holds a vision to provide high-level technical education and practical learning to all its students and blend in essential skills in their curriculum that include moral and social values. The college offers an undergraduate degree of BE/B Tech in multiple disciplines.

• MEC offers five specializations: Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, and Mechanical. The duration of each course is four years.
• To qualify for B Tech admission at MEC, an applicant must score above 45% in 10+2 examinations. Selection will be based on the score of 10+2 examination score.
• After the 10+2 result declaration, applicants are supposed to register for the counselling that is TNEA based on their 10+2 percentage.
• Later, the admission authority/Anna University will release the TNEA rank or merit list. Here, the rank list is prepared by considering the 10+2 aggregate marks.
