Kurnool Medical College (KMC) started in 1956 to provide a quality management education. They wanted to make sure people in the Rayalaseema area of Andhra Pradesh could learn medicine. It is the third medical college in the state and is affiliated with Sri Venkateshwara University. The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Medical Council of India gave its approval.
