Karnatak University (KU) has 47 postgraduate departments and offers various courses like MBA, MA, M.Sc., M.Com, M.LIB, M.P.Ed., MSW, MTA, M.Ed., LLM, MCA, Ph.D., PGDM, and Diploma. The admissions for various university courses are based on the rank scored in the KPGCET. It is a state university approved by UGC, accredited by NAAC with grade A and established in 1949.

• The university has 250 colleges affiliated with it with departments like social sciences, science and technology, management, law, education, commerce, and arts.
• The university covers 888 acres of land with facilities like a Wi-Fi campus, classrooms, e-classroom, sports, gym, auditorium, laboratory, cafeteria, hostel, medical and library, and computer labs.
• The library has a seating capacity for more than 300 staff and students and has 32111 UN Publications, 45966 bound volumes, 10000 volumes, and 3 lakhs books.

Hostel facility is available for male and female students within the campus, and the rooms are present with the double and four-seater arrangement and mess with a fee of INR 75k per year. VISHVACHETANA is the university's cultural organization that strives hard to improve cultural activities among the staff, students, and faculties. The university conducts sports competitions, and the selection is made based on the students' performance.

Placement:

The placement cell has provided 90% job opportunities to all the meritorious students with the right salary package. Pre-placement talks and mock interviews are conducted to improve communication skills, entrepreneurship, and employability qualities. Internship opportunities are provided to the students for a period of 6-8 weeks with a reasonable stipend every month. Companies like Wipro Technologies, Cisco, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Infosys, etc., are the top recruiters hiring eligible students, and the average salary offered to the students is INR 2.50 LPA.
