Indian Institute of Technology Ropar

One of the new IITs founded under "The Institutes Technology (Amendment) Act" is the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. It came into its presence in the year 2008. The classes for the academic session 2008-2009 were held at IIT Delhi. Later, Institute started administrating from its transit campus in Rupnagar. In June 2019, IIT Ropar shifted to its permanent campus. It comprises 11 academic departments, 1 transdisciplinary center, and 1 DST Technology Innovation Hub.
