The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is listed as one of the leading business schools in the country. Founded in 1963, it is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The IIFT earned deemed-to-be university status in 2002. NAAC accredits this Institute. Its core function is to train civil service candidates.
The Institute's campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Its lecture halls are centrally air-conditioned and have facilities for roundtable conferences and large auditoriums. The Institute also has three Computer Centres and a well-stocked library with eight thousand volumes and subscriptions to over 800 journals. 
It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in international business. In addition, the IIFT is home to one of the country's most comprehensive foreign trade MBA programs. As a result, the Institute's placement record is excellent, and its graduates enjoy a high average salary.
 

Rankings of IIFT
According to the IIFT NIRF ranking, 2016 the Institute was ranked 81st. The latest rankings of the Institute. The Institute has received high marks in multiple rankings, including Business Today and Business Standard's "India's Best B-schools" ranking. Its overall percentile for both these rankings is 95%. 
 

Courses offered at IIFT.
IIFT has become one of the leading business schools in India and is recognized by the UGC. Various academic collaborations have been established with various universities and business schools abroad. Here, the students get international exposure through seminars and exchange programs. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in international business. There are two campuses in Delhi and a PhD program in Delhi. There are also executive programs such as the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in International Business. The Institute also conducts research in the field of international trade. IIFT's alumni include top-level executives and business leaders. Among its certification programs, the Export-Import Management program focuses on operational competence and improving the expertise of working executives.
The IIFT admissions are open for those with appropriate eligibility criteria and entrance exam scores. MBA at IIFT

  • IIFT Delhi offers two postgraduate programs: an MBA and an MA in Economics. Both programs are available in full-time and part-time modes.
  • There is no age limit for either course. The application process involves a written test, an essay write-up, and a group discussion.
  • Indian Institute of Foreign Trade MBA admissions are based on graduation scores and entrance exam cut-off.
  • Personal interviews are also conducted. There is a separate entrance examination for MBA candidates, and the scores from national-level examinations will not be accepted for admission.
  • The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade fees for an MBA is INR 9.39 lakhs per annum.

Placements of IIFT The IIFT campus has attracted the best companies from different industries. There were over 98 companies participated in the placement process. Of these, 32 companies were new recruiters. Axtria, Bata, Aegis Resources, Enhance Group, and DE Shaw Group were some of the leading recruiters. Among the top companies, Tata Global Beverages introduced its Commercial Leadership Program. The Institute also collaborates with national and international organizations to create an environment where students can network and develop their career prospects. In particular, IIFT works with the International University of Geneva and the University of Newcastle.

  • The IIFT records highest package of international salary was INR 80 LPA.
  • The highest package of domestic salary was INR 46.50 LPA.
  • The top 10% of students received an average salary of INR 41.80 LPA.

Scholarships of IIFT The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) offers scholarships to aspiring students. These are merit-based, and students must perform satisfactorily in the IIFT examination. Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister, has urged IIFT to provide more scholarships to deserving students. This would ensure that no student is deterred from continuing their studies. It would also encourage students from different regions and backgrounds, making the campus more multicultural.

Hostel fee:

The Institute has developed a hostel to accommodate nearly 60 students with indoor courts for table tennis games.

New Hostel (NH) with 6 floors with rooms on a double seater basis and Old Hostel (OH) with 8 floors with basement parking for first and second-year students are available.

IIFT will consider graduation scores along with IIFT scores for MBA admissions. The overall score is between 52 and 54 marks.
