Selection Criteria for B.E. in MVIT

Admission to the B.E. programs at Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology is offered under three different categories,

  1. Admission for the Karnataka Students- Candidates seeking admission under this category should undertake the state-level common entrance exam KCET. 45% of the total intake will be reserved for the Karnataka domicile students applying for admission in the B.E. courses through the entrance exam KCET.
  2. Admission for Non-Karnataka students- Candidates are seeking admission to the B.E. courses at SMVIT must apply to the national entrance exam COMEDK. Karnataka and Non-Karnataka students can apply via this, and 30% of the total intake will be reserved for the candidates applying through COMEDK.
  3. Admission through Management quota- Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology offers admission through management quota. 25% of total seats will be reserved for this. Candidates should connect with the college administration to follow up regarding the procedure.
  • The admission of candidates will be based on the rank secured in the entrance exam.
