Amrita School of Ayurveda is located in Kottayam, Kerala. This University is one of the best options for aspirants. It is recognized by the Ministry of Ayush, GOI.  BAMS is a UG level program for the duration of 5.5 years, which is inclusive of 4.5 years and 1 year of clinical or hospital training as mandatory. The curriculum program in Amrita University majorly focuses on blending the ancient principle of ayurvedic to advanced medical sciences. The course is inclusive of clinical postings, herbal pharmacy work, Panchakarma practice and hospital exposure. By the end of the program, they shall be eligible to become Ayurvedic physicians and health professionals.

For BAMS admissions, it is necessary for the students to have appeared for NEET UG, and the selections happen through AYUSH NEET counselling (AACCC) under the deemed University category. The NEET UG cut-off rank for BAMS ranges from 718828-498408, closing rank. The total Amrita School of Ayurveda tuition fees structure is INR 14.39 lakhs. Per annum, it would approximately cost 2.6 lakhs. It excludes hostel and mess fees, which can go up to 3.6 lakhs. The annual intake of students is 60.

The graduates can further look for wider career prospectus, with job roles like Ayurvedic physician in clinics/hospitals, Panchakarma therapist/consultant. Eligibility Criteria for BAMS admissions in Kerala:

  • The students must have passed in their 10th and 12th board exams in the science stream with an average score of 50% marks or more.
  • In case of reserved candidates, ’ min 40% scores is accepted. They must have passed in core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as mandatory.
  • The BAMS selection process in Kerala requires students to appear for NEET UG as a mandatory criterion, followed by NEET UG counselling.
  • It is mandatory for the students to have a domicile certificate if they are looking for state quota seats.

Admission Process for Ayurveda in Kerala:

The general admission process for the BAMS course in Kerala will be conducted through a centralized and merit-based system. The whole process will be regulated by CEE of Kerala, in which the guidelines are given by NCISM and Ministry of Ayush, such as,

  • Students with eligible scores from their board exams must then take up the NEET UP exam. NEET scores are required to seek admission in all Government, private and deemed Universities.
  • Once the NEET results are out, it is necessary for students to register online for counselling through the CEE Kerala portal.
  • In the process of registration, students must enter all personal details, NEET scores, and attach other required documents and pay specified form fees.
  • Next, candidates must do the choice filling step, here candidates can choose their desired Ayurveda college in the state.
  • Further, seat allotment shall happen through multiple counseling rounds based on the individual’s NEET rank, choice filling, reservation norms, seat availability.
  • Those who have been allotted seats must report to the concerned college, verify the attached documents, and pay the admission fees for confirmation.
  • Students can seek admission in the Government quota, Management quota, and NRI quota, depending on the institution.
