The University of Hyderabad is now rated 9th in the NIRF 2021 rankings

The University of Hyderabad was founded in 1974 as a central university. The University has received UGC approval and NAAC accreditation. Hyderabad University offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes in engineering, management, science, and technology, among other fields. Hyderabad University embraces a reputable status from different ranking agencies at the National and International levels. It has been ranked for its noteworthy achievements in Quality Education, Research & Innovation, Placement activity and inclusivity.

In NIRF Rankings 2020, Hyderabad University secured 6th Rank among Leading Universities in India. NIRF has also ranked the University as India's fourth-best institution in 2019. Apart from NIRF, other notable ranking agencies such as India Today, Outlook, The WEEK have declared the ranking for the University at the National level. On an international scale, Hyderabad University was ranked by QS-BRICS, US NEWS.

The Ministry of HRD launched the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2015 to rank various institutions across the country. The University of Hyderabad is now rated 9th in the NIRF 2021 rankings. It had previously been placed 6th  in the University category. For the 6 consecutive years, UOH has been ranked among the Top 10 Universities in India by NIRF. In 2016 and 2019, NIRF has ranked 4th Position for UOH.
