MHT CET 2026 Second Attempt Dates Announced, Exam Begins May 10

The State Common Entrance Test Cell Maharashtra has announced the MHT CET 2026 second attempt exam dates. This means candidates have another chance to improve their scores. The exam will start from May 10 2026

This year MHT CET 2026 is being conducted in two sessions for the time. This is similar to national-level exams like JEE Main. In JEE Main students can attempt the test more than once. Keep their best score.

MHT CET 2026 Second Attempt: Exam Schedule

The second attempt will be conducted separately for PCB and PCM groups:

  • PCB Group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology): May 10 and May 11 2026
  • PCM Group (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics): May 12 to May 21 2026
  • No Exams: May 16. May 17 (weekend break)

The exams will be held online across centres in Maharashtra.

Confusion Over Revised Dates of MHT CET 2026

There was confusion over the revised dates. The CET Cell removed the attempt dates from the official website. This led to confusion among students who are taking the exam.

Students and experts think that the dates might be revised. This could be due to scheduling conflicts with major exams like JEE Advanced. There is no revised schedule yet. Candidates should check the official website for updates.

Registration and Eligibility for MHT CET 2026

The CET Cell opened the registration window for the attempt in mid-April. This allowed candidates to apply who either missed the session or wanted to improve their scores.

  1. Registration window: April 15 to April 16 2026
  2. Additional opportunity with fee: April 23 2026

Candidates who take both sessions, will have their best score considered for admission. This makes the second attempt a good opportunity.

Why Second Attempt Matters for MHT CET 2026

Many students skipped session 1 thinking they will do better in session 2.

This flexibility allows students to:

  1. Improve subject scores
  2. Get more time to prepare
  3. Reduce exam pressure from an attempt

Exam Pattern and Mode of MHT CET 2026

MHT CET 2026 follows its standard pattern:

  1. Conducted in CBT mode.
  2. Questions based on Class 11 and 12 syllabus.
  3. Separate papers for PCM and PCB groups.

The exam is the gateway for admission into engineering, pharmacy and related undergraduate programs across Maharashtra.
