As per 2021 NIRF Rankings, Alagappa secured 57th Rank

Alagappa University is recognized by AICTE and UGC and was established in 1985 in Karaikudi of Tamil Nadu. Alagaapa University is a State University with NAAC accreditation; 44 colleges have been affiliated with this University. They have 39 departments, nine centres and 2 Constituent Colleges. The variety of courses offered under Alagappa University is Graduation, Post-graduation, Diploma, Certifications, and PhD programs. The existence of Alagappa University is by a Special Act of the Government of Tamil Nadu. This University focuses on imparting knowledge in different learning domains, promoting research development.

Alagappa University has been recognized for its academic achievements at both the National & International level. It has been featured on the NIRF, QS and Outlook Ranking List. As per 2021 NIRF Rankings, Alagappa secured 57th Rank in the Overall Category. In 2020, it secured 64th in Overall by NIRF. Whereas in 2019, NIRF Ranked 47th Rank in the Same category.

Alagappa University Scholarship facilities

There are many types of scholarships offered by Alagappa University for its students, which are categorized under many disciplines that Government agencies finance. The Scholarship provision is given based on merit and for those from economically weaker sections. Here are some of the details regarding the scholarship: 

  • As a merit stipend for PG students, INR 2000 is given per month.
  • There is a complete waiver of fees for the deserving students for each of its programs.
  • For the first three toppers of each year, they offer PMT & VOC Endowment Merit Scholarship.
  • Alagappa University has come up with a 'Earn While You Learn' scheme for 2 students under each program with a maximum amount of INR 2000 per month.
  • Apart from these provisions, the students are offered many other Fee waivers or Scholarships schemes designed by the State or Central Government and NGOs of the state.
