Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admission in Himachal Pradesh

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria put up by the conducting authority to appear for further counselling. The eligibility comprises education qualification, age limit, domicile rules, etc.

• The minimum qualification required to apply for a B.Tech course is candidates shall have a qualified 10+2 examination with a minimum 45% aggregate score (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as compulsory subject) from any recognized board. According to government norms, there is a 5% relaxation applicable for reserved categories in aggregate marks.
• For B. Tech lateral entry admissions, candidates who completed three years diploma course with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the relevant stream are eligible.
• Aspirants willing to apply for B.Tech admission in Himachal State under state quota must be the resident of that particular state and completed class 12^th in Himachal Pradesh.
• The age criteria are aspirants need to be a minimum of 17 years of age and should not exceed more than 25 years of age to take B.Tech admissions.

Application Process for B.Tech Admission in Himachal Pradesh

B.Tech admissions to various colleges in Himachal state will be made through HPCET score based. Selection Process for B.Tech Admission in Himachal Pradesh

Selection of candidates for B.Tech admissions is purely based on qualifying examination merit followed by entrance exam score, and then through counselling basis seats will be offered. Candidates appeared for the entrance exam based on their rank obtained and considering various other factors, and the concerned authority will release a merit list.

Counselling Process for B.Tech Admission in Himachal Pradesh

HPCET qualified candidates will be eligible to appear for the counselling session after completing the registration process. HPTU conducts the online counselling process for HPCET or JEE Main qualified candidates, usually in July every year.

• The first 50% of seats in all the participating colleges will be allotted to JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates, while the remaining seats will be offered to the HPCET qualified candidates through the counselling rounded.
• In case of vacant seats, even after the JEE Main and HPCET counselling results, the seats will be allotted to those willing to take admissions based on their 10+2 merit.
• During the counselling, as per the candidates, preference or choice of filling basis, seats in the states' engineering college will be allotted.
• Once the seat is allotted to the candidates, one shall pay the HPCET admission fee to confirm the seats. In addition, candidates will have to pay the registration fee via online mode debit card/credit card/net banking.
• After completing the candidate's counselling process, they must appear for the respective allotted institutes for document verification.
