Bharat Ratna Dhonda Keshav Karve started SNDT College of Home Science, and this is the top college established for women exclusively in India. This college was started in the year 1968 in the part of Maharashtra and the city of Pune. SNDT College was established on 16 acres of land with a very serene and conducive environment for the female power of India. The institute aimed to create very efficient and responsible women with sound knowledge and enlighten them with infinite strength. According to the university, the SNDT College of Home Science, the courses offered are in under-graduate and post-graduate programs.

• Mostly, the courses are offered in Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Quality Control, Textile Science and Apparel Design, Human Development, Interior Design, Human Ecology, and Consumer Services.
