School of Medical Education

School of Medical Education was started under the Mahatma Gandhi University in 1993, but now this belongs to the Centre of Professional and Advanced Studies. This institute was established by the Kerala State government and was previously run by the Mahatma Gandhi University. This institute was started to meet the growing demands of the trained medical professionals in allied medical sciences. At present, this college has become one of the premier institutes of the university. The courses at UG and PG levels offered in this institute are designed to produce high-caliber students and develop their skills. This institute has collaborated with Government Medical Colleges, where students get to practice and train here. SME, Kottayam College is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences

• School of Medical Education-SME, Kottayam offers course like B.Sc. in specializations as MRT, Nursing, MLT, and Medical Laboratories. BPT-Bachelor of Physiotherapy and B.Pharm courses are also offered at the graduate level.
• SME, Kottayam offers PG courses such as M.Sc. in streams like M.Sc., Master of Hospital Administration, Master of Public Health (MPH), MPT, and Master of Pharmacy.
• For taking the School of Medical Education-SME, Kottayam admission to these medical programs like B.Sc., BPT, B.Pharm, etc., students will have posse’s minimum eligibility criteria apply for the course. Kerala origin candidates will be able to claim seats in courses under the reservation quota.
• School of Medical Education-SME, Kottayam fee structure for the UG courses like BPT, B.Sc., and B.Pharm would be in the range of INR 1.06 Lac – Rs. 1.40 Lac. The fee structure for the PG Courses like M.Sc., MPH, M.Pharm, etc., will have fees close to Rs. 65,000 to more approximately.

For all the applicants who fill in the application form for applying to SME courses, Kottayam must send the form directly to the joint director. Students will be selected and ranked based on merit and finally will be called for the institute level counseling to allot seats.
