Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth College of Agriculture is a premier institute offering education in agriculture in the state of Maharashtra to provide services to growers via education and research. It started functioning in 1972 and started contributing to the agricultural area through proper training and research in agricultural and associated science.

This institute aims to synchronize education and research activities to expand agricultural production and apply new inventions to render farmers' efforts.

This institute has been awarded Rs. One hundred crores by Govt. of India for being an Institution of excellence in the year 2008 and has been recognized for being excellent in education, research, and other higher education by ICAR and was awarded as Sardar Patel Best Institution.

This institute is aided by various councils, namely the Academic Council, Agricultural Research Council, to coordinate and review agricultural development. To deliver combined agricultural activities implementation of latest technologies at all the stages for maximum efficiency at lowest expenses possible for the better life of farmers.
