The Karnataka Law Society established the KLS GIT Belagavi - KLS Gogte Institute of Technology in 1979. KLS GIT is an autonomous institution with a permanent affiliation with VTU, Belagavi. KLS GIT Belagavi also boasts NBA Accreditation from 2004 to 2018.  Three of its postgraduate programs—MBA, M.Tech. in Machine Design, and M.Tech. in Structural Engineering—received accreditation status from NBA. In addition, the Institute has received an A+ GRADE from NAAC, an authorized body of the UGC. Furthermore, the KLS Gogte Institute of Technology architecture course has authorization from the CoA regulatory body.

Through five departments, KLS Gogte provides a range of Technical courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Engineering, Business Management, Architecture, Computer Application, and Basic Sciences are some of these disciplines. The CGPA is an effective grading system used in India to describe a student's performance over an academic term. The calculated mean GPA over the semesters is divided by the total number of course credits to obtain the CGPA of a student. The minimum CGPA, a student, requires to pass is 5, with 10 being the outstanding grade point with an 'S' grade. The fee structure varies depending on the mode of admissions, with CET being at a lower cost range than COMEDK and management. KLS Gogte College admission for all the courses is based on qualifying Common Entrance Examinations. Candidates are initially required to register online on the university website. Then, the student's selection is per the merit list, which includes scores from qualifying board exams and common entrance exams. There is a strict eligibility criterion for all courses with a minimum of 45%  marks in the previous year's qualifying board exams. In the case of P.G. courses, candidates are required to score 50% at the U.G. level. The final step before admissions requires the candidates to attend counseling with KLS GIT as the college of preference.

Admissions to the U.G. courses in KLS GIT follow the UGC-approved norms. In addition, students need to attend any of the common entrance exams.

• Admissions to KLS Gogte Institute of Technology aeronautical engineering and other B.E. courses are based on KCET or COMEDK Scores. In addition, the Institute selects students concerning the KLS Gogte Institute of Technology cutoff ranking in the mentioned entrance tests every year.
• Admission to the B Arch is based on NATA Scores. In addition, students shall have passed 10+2 in the science stream and have qualified with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.

Students with bachelor's degree certification and minimum marks are eligible to apply for P.G. courses such as M Tech, MBA, and MCA. For example, KLS Gogte Institute of Technology MBA admission is based on KPGCET or KMAT Exam scores. For admission to the M Tech and MCA, candidates can apply based on KPGCET Scores.
