Institute of Road and Transport Technology

The Road and Transport Technology Institute known as IRTT, was founded in 1984. Institute is operated by all transport companies of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The institute of road and transport technology is situated in a Lush green with an area of 350 acres. The main vision is to give impetus to young minds through technological quality education based on values ??and provide solid knowledge and intellectual capacity, moulding students with good character and innovative ideas to research and develop professional excellence, leadership and illustrated global society services.

• The Road and Traffic Engineering Institute, is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated with Anna University in Chennai.
• The Road and Traffic Engineering Institute is affiliated with Anna University in Chennai offers seven undergraduate engineering degrees in different streams and three master's programs (Master of Engineering) in Computer Science and Engineering, Structural Engineering and Master in computer applications. Under the direction of Dr.Tharvish Mohideen, who is Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering has a separate area for the placement of interviews on campus and other placement work has been established. Each year, more than 90% of aspirants are placed in different companies with best package according the industry standards.

 The institute library has collection of books on the courses of the study program. Library consists of 28,345 volumes, journals (national and international), magazines etc. Each year new ones are added. The Institute is mainly known for its modern facilities, excellence in technical education, and good services. There are separate facilities for boys and girls on campus that offer comfortable accommodation. Hostel can accommodate 1400 girl aspirants in 300 rooms and 2000 boy aspirants in 500 rooms with modern infrastructure and facilities.
