Gossner College

Gossner College Ranchi was established in 1971. Initially, the college was a minority college managed by the Gossner Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chotanagar & Assam. The vision of the institution is to provide education to students from the region's socially, economically, and underprivileged communities. The preference is generally given to students from all communities. The college is primarily responsible for developing students in the Ranchi region. The objective is to provide good quality education to young Tribal Christian students of Jharkhand. A college is a prominent place for the holistic development of all its students.

Courses offered by Gossner College are categorized into undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational courses. BA, B Com, BSc, and BBA are the Gossner College UG Courses. In addition, the college offers admission to the MA, MSc, and M Com in various disciplines at the PG level. These courses provide holistic development through their curriculum, focusing on the primary development of students. The Gossner College admissions are made following a distinct procedure for every other course. The selection of the entrants is based on academic merit.

Gossner College Ranchi Campus infrastructure is an example of aesthetics & beauty beyond a point as the campus provides all permanent structures concerning academic buildings, labs, library, auditorium, hostels, canteens, playground, and many more. The college library has a collection of various books and other sources of knowledge. The computer lab is equipped with proper access to the internet, which helps the students access different sources available.

The Gossner college hostel facility is quite limited. However, all the necessary amenities are available.

The other facilities provided by the campus are at par with the educational standards, but the residential facilities are a deterrent for potential students.

The student life at Gossner College is filled up with different activities focussing on the overall & holistic development of the students. The major is seminars, workshops, and conferences on current & relatable topics. For example, blood donation and environmental awareness promote the basic idea of goodness in students. In addition, the faculty and students are encouraged to come up with new ideas related to incubation & entrepreneurship for the development of the entire region.

Gossner College Fees Structure

• The Gossner College BCA fee is around Rs. 90000 for the three years, keeping it at Rs. 30000 for every semester.
• Gossner College Ranchi B.SC fee structure INR 16,000. Students will pay this amount in 1st year as admission fees and tuition fees. The fee structure from the 2nd year onwards will be INR 15,000.
• Students who have passed 10+2 in the commerce stream are eligible to apply for admission to the B Com. In contrast, the Gossner College B Com admission fee is INR 24k.

Additionally, Gossner College Scholarships are available to deserving students. It is predominantly a minority college; therefore, the role of scholarships gets even more crucial. Ample schemes are provided to students belonging to economically backward, scheduled tribes, and socially backward sections. The state government also proves to be a great support to this objective of inclusive education. The scholarship amount varies between Rs. 10000- Rs. 15000.

Gossner College Placement

The college has a dedicated placement cell to organize a recruitment drive for undergraduate and postgraduate degree students. Few major companies like Tata, LIC, and Baja visit campus for on-campus drives. The placement cell tries to provide good internship opportunities and final placement assistance.

The University's placement cell is a major organizer of seminars for students to give them a clear picture of what's next in the competitive environment. Unfortunately, the placement percentage of the college is average due to the lower footfall of recruiters across all courses.
