Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology (SMIT, Chennai) is one of the leading educational institutes. UGC recognizes the courses offered by SMIT. Also,  the courses have been accredited by NAAC. SMIT offers UG and PG degrees in Engineering, Management and Computer Applications. In terms of education and fee structure, SMIT is worthy. SMIT has been ranked 13^th among Top Engineering Colleges in Chennai City. The college offers B Tech at the UG level and MBA, M Tech and MCA at the PG level. In addition, it provides financial assistance through diverse scholarships scheme for deserving candidates.

• SMIT offers admission to the B Tech in various disciplines. In contrast, the annual intake for B Tech is 60 seats. B Tech fees structure at SMIT Chennai cost approx. 70k per annum. In total, students have to pay INR 2.8 Lakhs for four years.
• M Tech at SMIT is available in six core specializations. They are Applied Electronics, Computer-Aided Design, CSE, Embedded System, Engineering Design and Power system.
• The course fees structure for M Tech in SMIT Chennai cost nearly INR 80k in total for two years. Admission seekers have to pay approx. INR 40k each year. Payment can be cleared on a semester basis.
• SMIT provides admission to the two year MBA with an intake capacity of 120 seats. SMIT Chennai MBA fees expenses around INR 80k per annum. In contrast, Year wise fees cost INR 40k.
• SMIT offers a full-time MCA course for three years. The annual intake for MCA is 120 seats. MCA Per annum fees at SMIT charges INR 30k. Hence, the total fees for the entire course charge INR 90k.

SMIT Chennai offers very comfortable hostel accommodation for girls and boys separately. The hostel is located within the campus area. In total, there are two hostels. The hostel infrastructure and the facilities are pretty good. Adequate security is provided to ensure safety. In girls hostel, more than 350 students can accommodate. In boys hostel, more than 750 students can accommodate. Both hostels comprise necessary amenities such as an independent kitchen, health equipment, a common room with TV / Telephone, a mess with a dining hall Etc.

• Mess offers hygiene food to suit the diverse taste and preferences of the residents. Besides, it facilitates Free Wi-Fi / Internet connectivity, Library, Transport and Medical centres etc.
• Both AC and Non Ac occupancies are available. However, the fees structure will be quite expensive for AC Rooms and Single occupancy.
• Admission to the SMIT Chennai hostel is based on First Come First Service Policy. Therefore, students who wish to opt for a hostel facility must fill a separate application form. Please fill the form and submit it to the hostel warden as per the prescribed format.
• The hostel fees at SMIT Chennai cost approx. INR 37 000 per annum. The fees structure is similar for both boys & girls.
