Admission Procedure & Eligibility in University of Calcutta

University of Calcutta was started in 1857 as an educational public state university in Kolkata, West Bengal. CU is 1st in Asia to be formed as secular and multidisciplinary western panache University. The University is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade along with UGC approval for offering courses in various disciplines at UG, PG and Research level.

The students applying for admission to University of Calcutta must meet the basic eligibility criteria set by the University and also should have a valid rank or score in the entrance exams relating to the courses.

The application form can be submitted both online and offline mode and the application form fee vary from course to course.

Q : Sir/Madam,I'm a science graduate (passed in 2006 with MTM, PHYS & COMP) & could not carry honours in Math at Part-II).Thereafter, I've been working in the mechanical engineering industries.My question is now, "what academic course will be suitable for me? Can I get admission for MBA course? or can I get admission in DME course? Is any value if can get chance to get admission in distance course of those streams?Please reply.?

Yes, you can choose MBA after completing your B.TECH, as this is a prevalent option for many Graduates who’ve already started done the engineering stream

And the few important factors where MBA will be beneficial is:

  • Also get the chance of learning the Networking Opportunities

Admission process for M.Sc. Biotechnology:

  • Students has to appear for the common admission exam and secure valid score.
  • Final selection process to the programme will be based on the counselling process.
  • Minimum eligibility is that aspirant must have secured 50% score in B.Sc. in relevant subjects from any reputed board.

  • The aspirants must have passed B.Sc. Hons. In Physics with Mathematics as a general subject
Calcutta University Admission:
  • The Calcutta University admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in (WBJEE).
  • And the Vacant seats will be filled by the institute based on the rank obtained in JEE-Mains
Calcutta University important dates for JEE Mains 2018:
  • The Availability of Admit Card from 2nd week of March 2018
  • The Examination Date for offline exam(Pen & Paper Based Test) from 8th April 2018

  • B.Tech Electrical Engineering for General category in OR is 822 and in CR is 1175
  • B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering for General category in OR is 863 and in CR is 1181
