Among the government-aided Ayurveda colleges in Maharashtra, Shri Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur is one of the oldest and most celebrated ones. The establishment of the college in 1953
was by the Bharatiya Vaidyak Samanvaya Samiti. It is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, and the premier authority, the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine. 

This institution is equipped with a teaching hospital, Panchakarma centre, herbal garden, research facilities, and experienced faculty. Thus, the college continues to be a preferred centre for Ayurvedic education in Central India. It currently has 125 BAMS seats, postgraduate MD/MS specializations in 13 fields, and is also running Ph.D. courses in Ayurveda. 

Admission to the undergraduate BAMS programme requires NEET UG scores. The postgraduate MD/MS (Ayurveda) entry will be done through AIAPGET. The counselling for the State Quota seats is done by Maharashtra State CET Cell, and the counselling for 15% All India Quota seats is done by AACCC. Admission aspirants must meet the eligibility criteria and take part in the centralized counselling process for the final seat allotment.

Shri Ayurved Mahavidyalaya BAMS Admission 2026

Admissions to the BAMS course will depend on the NEET UG 2026 scores and, after that, the Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling performed by the State CET Cell. Candidates submitting applications for the 15% All India Quota need to undergo AACCC AYUSH Counselling. The duration of the BAMS course is 5.5 years: 4.5 years’ academic study, and one-year compulsory rotatory internship. 

Eligibility – BAMS

  • Must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • General category candidates should have at least 50% marks in PCB.
  • The minimum marks in PCB for reserved candidates is 40%.
  • Candidate’s age should be 17 years or above as on 31 December 2026.
  • Qualify the NEET UG 2026 examination.

For admission into UG courses in Shri Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Nagpur it is compulsory that student must have completed the age of 17 on or before appearing for examination and the candidate must be Indian. Basic requirement for admission is that student must have passed 12th with PCB as the compulsory subject with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board. In addition to this most importantly it is mandatory that student must have appeared for NEET entrance examination which is mostly conducted online in the month of May and must have secured valid score as per the cut off marks. Candidates can fill the online application form in 1st week of February and the application fee for general and OBC category is 1,500.

Shri Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Nagpur Admission for BAMS is done based on the following criteria’s: Firstly, the candidate should have a higher secondary education in science, with physics, biology and chemistry as their majors, and should have secured a min. of 50% average marks in them collectively. Second, the candidate should appear for the national level entrance test such as the, NEET. In all, the candidates who perform well, and fulfill the above criteria’s will get through the admission process. The admissions are done through the offline mode. And fees, are based on the candidates entry i.e., through entrance exam or management.
