Kankanwadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, KLE is, in fact, one of the oldest and most prestigious Ayurvedic colleges in India and is located in Belagavi, Karnataka. Founded in 1933, the college is a constituent institution of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) and is also approved by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). The college has a teaching hospital with excellent facilities in Ayurveda, attached to it, where students get clinical exposure, conduct research, and do hands-on training. The college is famous for maintaining a high standard of academic performance, having the most experienced faculty, and for the contribution of the college in the field of education and research in Ayurveda.

The college provides a BAMS at the UG level together with MD/MS (Ayurveda) and post-doctoral programmes. Courses are offered through admission to BAMS through NEET UG results, whereas admission to PG courses is through AIAPGET results. UG admissions are done through the Ministry of AYUSH counselling process for the deemed university, and candidates eligible from all over India can apply for it. The college has 100 BAMS seats, besides offering multiple postgraduate specializations in Ayurveda.

Every academic year the college opens admission to 100 students for the BAMS programme. The whole process for admission is based on the NEET UG score followed by AACCC AYUSH counselling. As it is a deemed university, therefore candidates belonging to different states are also eligible to take part in the centralized counselling process. The total period of BAMS programme is 5.5 years which includes one year of compulsory rotatory internship.

Eligibility – BAMS

• Should have cleared 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as subjects.
• At least 50% marks in PCB for General category candidates.
• At least 40% marks in PCB for reserved category candidates.
• Should be 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026.
• Should clear NEET UG 2026.
