Madras University, Institute of Distance Education located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu was established in 1981 and is one of the best institutions in India. The university offers 63 programmes in total and all the programmes are under the approval of University grants commission (UGC).

  • Madras University, Institute of Distance Education offers under graduate and post graduate courses in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, Hotel Management and Law under various specializations.
  • At under graduate level Madras University, Institute of Distance Education offers BA, B. Sc, B. Com and BBA programs. To be eligible for admission into these under graduate programmes, candidate must have successfully qualified 10+2 examinations under relevant fields with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board of education. Selection is only on the basis of merit in the qualifying examinations.
  • Madras University, Institute of Distance Education offers Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science (M. Sc), Master of Commerce (M. Com) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) at post graduate level.
  • For admission into Masters program, candidates must have completed Graduation in relevant subjects from a recognised university. Final selection for admission into M. Sc, M. Com, MBA and MCA program is made on the basis of student’s score in entrance exam, which is conducted by the university. There will be a separate merit list for the different courses and the merit list will be published on the university website.
  • Madras University, Institute of Distance Education also offers Diploma and PG diploma programmes. For diploma course, student must have completed 10+2 or bachelor’s degree from Madras University and for PG diploma, candidates who have completed their graduation from Madras university can apply.
  • The application form for admission into any of the UG, PG or Diploma programs at Madras University, Institute of Distance Education is available online at the university’s official website. Application fee is INR 100.

To apply at Madras University Institute of Distance Education admission 2026 for distance MBA, you have to apply online through the official web portal. The selection is based on graduation eligibility and application submission. Madras University MBA Distance Education does not require an entrance exam.

Students must fill in the online application form for Madras University distance MBA admissions. The selections are mainly based on academic merit (UG degree), followed by TANCET scores.

Interested applicants for the B.Com program should have a min of 50% marks in board exams with commerce subjects. No entrance exam is needed for MU IDE admissions.
