Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research is a comparatively young and eminent multi-disciplinary research institute which was established by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India in the year 1989. Its directive is to pursue & encourage superlative scientific training & research at the borderlines of engineering and science. The academy is a deemed university which is situated just 25km away from BIAL Airport in Bangalore. The academy offers 4 specializations in Ph.D., 2 in MS, 2 in PG Diploma and 7 in Ph.D. programs.

For M.Sc course at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research:

  • Eligibility for the course is minimum 50% aggregate in graduation in the relevant domain from a recognized university.
  • Candidates will have to secure a valid score in any of these entrance examinations, GPAT/GATE/JEST.

  • In case of candidates from Karnataka, KCET is the entrance test to seek admission for B.Tech course in this institute.
  • In case of candidate from outside Karnataka, COMEDK is the eligible entrance exam.

The information of the Integrated Ph. D in Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research is:

Integrated Ph. D, M.S. (Engg) Ph. D:

  • This course is offered only in the area of Materials Science
  • And the aspirants will be selected through an entrance test consisting of written examination (multiple choice questions) on chemistry, physics and mathematics
  • And also based on oral examination
  • The aspirants with B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech Degrees are also eligible to apply
  • And the Final year students are also encouraged to apply
  • The aspirants who are selected will receive a stipend of Rs. 5000/- p.m. for the first two years

The Eligibility is:

  • The aspirants with a M Sc., BE, B Tech, ME, M Tech or MBBS are eligible to apply.  
  • And the candidates need to have at least 50% in their highest University examination
  • And should also have qualified in the GATE / JEST /GPAT or  UGC -/ CSIR - NET-JRF/ / ICMR - JRF / DBT-JRF/ INSPIRE-JRF

*Based on this process the admission is done.

  • Candidate must have minimum 50% aggregate in 10+2 from a recognized board.
