The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted NEET PG exam on Saturday, August 3. It is a computer-based test administered at around 400 centres across the country. NEET PG is held for admission to various postgraduate medical courses including MD, MS, PG Diploma, post-MBBS DNB and six-year DrNB and NBEMS diploma programmes. The exam was held in a single shift following the Supreme Court's order. Gates to the exam centre opened at 7:00 AM and closed by 8:30 AM, with login access granted only after that time.
NEET PG scorecards were available online from a few days after the exam and contain the candidate's roll number, marks and percentile, along with all-India rank. The NEET PG scorecard is required throughout the counselling process for admission to MD, MS and PG diploma courses. Candidates can check their individual scores by visiting the NBEMS website and entering their application ID and password.
Despite a rigorous preparation schedule, only a few medical graduates manage to secure their desired specialisation in reputed institutions. This is due to intense competition, limited PG seats and the requirement for a one-year compulsory rotatory internship. Nevertheless, the right approach and strategy can help you achieve your dream medical seat.
Aspiring PG aspirants should start by familiarising themselves with the NEET PG eligibility criteria and revised exam pattern. They should also make sure they fulfil the registration requirements and upload scanned images of their photograph, signature, and left thumb impression before the deadline. Finally, they should be aware of the counselling round dates and procedure. NEET PG counselling is handled by MCC for 50% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats and by state authorities for the remaining 50%.
To prepare for NEET PG, students should solve previous year's question papers and practice mock tests on mobile apps and online platforms. They should also make a habit of reviewing and revising their work regularly. Furthermore, it's a good idea to seek guidance from a reputed coaching institute if needed. In addition, they should stay updated with current medical guidelines and exam trends. Lastly, they should be clear on what to do after NEET PG results are announced and how to navigate the counselling rounds.
