MBBS Admission in Delhi: Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria, Counselling & Seat Allotment

MBBS counselling process in Delhi will be based on MBBS merit list which will be announced on the official website. Candidates whose name is listed on the merit list will be able to appear for the counselling session. Every candidate seeking MBBS admission will have to appear for NEET exam which is conducted by NTA and is accepted all over India. Eligibility Criteria for MBBS Admission in Delhi

MBBS admission in Delhi for candidates will depend on the educational qualification, age limit and nationality criteria of the candidate.

  • The minimum education qualification required is students passed class 12 science stream (Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English) and qualified NEET is necessary. It is also important for candidates to be medically fit to participate in admission.
  • Candidates should have secured minimum aggregate to be eligible for MBBS course. For general candidates it is 50%, for reserved category candidates it is 40% and candidate’s belonging to PH category it is 45%.
  • Candidates if earlier had taken admissions for MBBS and were not able to clear the first year exam then not eligible for Delhi MBBS admissions.
  • Candidate being an Indian citizen and OCIs are eligible to apply for MBBS course available at Medical Colleges in Delhi.
  • Students should have passed class 12th from Delhi NCR region schools if they are willing to take admissions under 85% state quota. Class 12th candidates passed need to be from CBSE, ICSE or JMI board of education.
  • The minimum age criteria for applicants to apply for MBBS is 17 years age while the upper age limit will be 25 years age. For reserved category students there is 5-year relaxation offered.

Application Process for MBBS Admission in Delhi

Online application process takes place for the applicants to fill the Delhi MBBS application form to seek admission to the state’s medical colleges. There are few steps to be followed to attend the MBBS counselling.

Step 1: Registration

Candidates in the first need to register in the online mode once the NEET exam results are announced in order to appear for the counselling. Applicants need to provide their valid details and agree to the terms and conditions of Delhi MBBS admissions for further choice filling, locking the choice and counselling process.

Step 2: Personal Details

Candidates been agreed for the terms and conditions will have to provide their academic details, personal details, security questions and submit the same to start with the procedure. The details provided by the candidates in the application form must be same as of the details mentioned in the NEET form. Now can confirm their participation by clicking on the button confirm registration, a print out of the same is necessary for further procedure.

Step 3: Choice Filling

On completion of Delhi MBBS registration process successfully candidates will be able to see for available medical colleges. According to candidate’s preference and choice shall select the colleges and course and considering the same seats will be allocated to students as per their choice list. Before the seat allocation round and locking the choices one can be change the choices made. However, if the candidates have locked their preferred choices then the changes will not be permitted in the choice list.

Step 4: Application Fee Payment

Once the complete procedure of above steps is done then candidates will have to make the application fee payment for Delhi MBBS in order to confirm their participation. Delhi MBBS Admission Application Fees for Unreserved Categories and reserved categories will cost around INR 1000.

Selection Process for MBBS Admission in Delhi

GGSIPU releases the state merit list based on candidates NEET entrance test. So, considering the merit list like candidates whose name is shortlisted will be able to attend Delhi MBBS counselling. At the time of seat allocation to any Delhi medical colleges the rank of candidates in state and their score will be taken into consideration. As per the norms of Government of India reservation in Delhi MBBS will be applicable.

After the successful completion of registration process for Delhi MBBS admission, the admission authority which is in concern shall prepare and release a merit list of candidates considering their NEET entrance test score. Those shortlisted candidates will take part in the counselling session in order to get Delhi State quota MBBS admission seats.

Counselling Process for MBBS Admission in Delhi

After the NEET results announcement Delhi MBBS counselling will start and 3 central rounds will take place for allocation of seats followed by there is mop-up rounds in case of vacant seats remaining at Delhi medical colleges.
