New changes in DU Admission 2022

The Executive Council (EC) approved the new admission process for Delhi University (DU) undergraduate (UG) programs based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. The admission process will be held in three phases through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Thus, no admissions are based on cut-off lists of class 12 scores.

There will be three phases for admission at all the Delhi University-affiliated colleges.

  • Students need to fill out the application form on the CSAS 2022 centralized admission portal.
  • There is a one-time fee on the application, which is non-refundable.
  • Candidates applying for sports and ECA need to pay additional charges.

Phase 2. Course/Programme Selection and  College preferences

  • Once the results of CUET(UG) 2022 are announced, students must select their college and course preferences on the  CSAS portal.

Phase 3. Seat Allocation and Admissions.

  • Seat allocation based on the merit list of CUET scores will be conducted.
  • There are possibilities of multiple rounds for seat allotment. Presently, the exact number of rounds for seat allotment is unclear. At the start of every allotment round, the university will show the number of available seats.
  • After the student accepts the seat, the university will verify the documents for their eligibility.

DU UG Admission Key Points

  • DU Admission 2022 Portal - https://admission.uod.ac.in/?UG-Admissions
  • DU UG Admission 2022 Application form - https://ncwebadmission.uod.ac.in/
  • DU UG Admission Last Date - 25 August 2022.
  • Guidelines dictate that the certifications provided by the candidates claiming reservations should have documents with names the same as their corresponding school board qualifying certificates and in CUET(UG)-2022. The same applies to the names of their parents.
  • There will be no exceptions during the verification of documents and certifications. The admission committee will not entertain incomplete, invalid reasons for the non-availability of documents.
  • Mid-entry option: This can be opted by candidates who missed the initial admission registration. The fee charged for mid-entry is INR 1,000. Candidates entering with the option will have a disadvantage over the students who applied on time. But the students who applied on time are given precedence over candidates entering mid-way during seat allotment.
  • Candidates can withdraw their application by selecting the "withdraw" button on the admission portal's bottom of their account. A withdrawal fee of INR 1,000 will be applicable for the process.

Take away: There is uncertainty about the commencement dates of the admission process due to  CUET-UG exams being postponed. As the exams will conclude on August 28, the DU officials stated that all admission proceeds would be delayed by "at least a week."
