B.Tech admissions at Anna University are entirely merit-based and conducted through the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counselling system, with no entrance exam required — selection is based solely on Class 12 PCM marks normalized to a scale of 200.

Admission to B.Tech at the constituent colleges of Anna University is done through TNEA counselling, where seats are allotted based on the candidate's cutoff marks calculated from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics scores in 10+2.

Anna University itself doesn't offer direct B.Tech admissions, all engineering seats across affiliated colleges are allotted through TNEA counselling. There is no direct admission or management quota at Anna University's own constituent colleges.

Anna University B Tech Admission 2026 will be done through TNEA process. All applicants  are selected on the basis of 12th academic merit. To determine TNEA Rank, 12th scores will be used. Anna University does not have any type of entrance exam for B tech. To be eligible for B Tech admission applicants need to register for TNEA online. This involves filling out the application form, uploading documents such as previous year mark sheets, verifying certificates and then participating in counselling. At the time of counselling, applicants can select which colleges and courses they would like to enter into. Cutoff and ranking established by the selection committee will determine which college/courses will receive a seat allotment.
