Rajeev Gandhi Memorial Institute of Engineering and Technology was founded in 1996. The college has accreditation from NAAC and  NBA. The campus area is extended over 35 acres of land with modern infrastructure. RGMCET Kurnool was founded to deliver excellent education to aspirants and to help them develop successful careers. In addition, the college encourages co-curricular activities by arranging various events, athletics, festivals, synopses, and so on to help students improve their talents.

According to the NIRF Ranking 2022, the college is ranked in the range of 201-250 in the B Tech category. NAAC accredited the college with an "A+" Grade. As a result, RGM College is the top engineering college in India. RGM Engineering College Nandyal's fee structure for B Tech is roughly INR 69k per annum. The overall costs for MBA are around INR 90k. The fees for M Tech is approximately INR 62k per year. The annual fee for MCA is approximately INR 62k.

The college is allied with JNTUA and is approved by AICTE. Besides, UGC has recognized the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College courses. In addition, the college is ISO 9001:2008 certified. The college offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.B.A, and MCA programs. NBA has accredited the engineering programs. RGMCET college B Tech is available in 9 diverse engineering streams. Students opting for M Tech can choose any of the streams out of five. Seven departments in the college, such as CE, EEE, ECE, MECH, Physics, Mathematics, and MBA, are recognized as potential research centers by JNTU, enabling to offer research programs Ph.D.

Candidates must take the admission exams after achieving the qualifying conditions. For example, candidates must take the AP EAMCET for admission to the B.Tech. AP PGECET and GATE scores are required for admission to M Tech. Students wishing to apply for MBA or MCA must take the AP ICET Examination. Besides, applicants must reach the RGM College Cut off.

Admission will be granted under two categories. At first,  70% of intake will be filled based on the common entrance test ranking under A Category, the convenor quota. On the other hand,  15% of seats are filled under the RGM Engineering College Management quota, commonly called Category B Seats. Suppose the entrance test ranking is not up to the cutoff standards, they can opt for RGMCET direct admission. Industrial tours and guest lectures by industry experts are also held to bring students up to date on current industry trends. In addition, recruiters from Cognizant, TCS, Intel, Wipro, IBM, Toppr, Aws, NIIT, Hexaware, Birlasoft, eBay, and other companies visit the Campus to recruit talented students.  

Students are also given internship support in addition to the final job offers. To be accepted for internships, candidates must have a baseline 6.5 Cumulative GPA and 75% punctuality in the preceding semesters. During the 2021 placement drive, 972 students received job offers. The RGMCET Highest Package stood at INR 8.5 LPA. In contrast, the average package offered INR 4 LPA.

RGMCET provides numerous scholarship opportunities for deserving UG and PG students based on their overall academic achievement in the test. In addition, there will be a 100% concession in tuition fees for the entire four years for B Tech,  who are admitted to RGMCET with a rank between 1 and 10,000 in the EAMCET entry exam.

• Candidates who obtain M Tech admission with a GATE acceptable grade are eligible for AICTE Stipend.
• Candidates who gain admission with a valid PGECET score are eligible for tuition fee reimbursement from the Andhra Pradesh government.
• Candidates admitted based on their ICET score are also entitled to tuition reimbursement.
